A Purim Update From JETS

Dear friends,

This week, Jews around the world will celebrate the jolly holiday of Purim! Purim is all about “venahafoch hu,” the notion of things being turned on their heads. It was this time last year that the world as we knew it was turned on its head, and the Covid-19 world became the new normal.

But although this past year has been one of the most challenging years in recent history, we’ve also seen tremendous growth. Our JETS student body has tripled since last year, and we’ve been able to offer exciting new programs like the JETS Business School and JETS CARES (Coding, Accounting, Real Estate), giving our students the best tools to thrive in this ever-changing world.

And as our students learn and grow, we’re here to support them every step of the way. To provide guidance. To help them be the best version of themselves. To love them and believe in them. Now more than ever, we are committed to helping our students prosper, no matter what the future holds.

There are some fascinating parallels between Covid and the Purim story. Many people are unaware that the Purim story lasted an entire year, from the time that Haman made the decree until the Jews were delivered from total annihilation.

As Purim approaches, we’re ready for another “venahafoch hu.” We’re ready for the world to be overturned “from sorrow to gladness, and from mourning into a holiday.”

From all of us here at JETS, we wish you and your family a very Happy Purim!

Sincerely,

Rabbi Mayer Schmukler
